My story began in September 2005 when my partner and I decided to try for another baby. We already
have a little boy Thomas who was born in April 2004. I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and my periods
are very irregular. Thomas was actually a result of a course of acupuncture I had been receiving from
another practitioner to treat my migraines. The doctor then told me that my migraines were hormone
related and that if my periods were more regular then the migraines would become less. After this
course of acupuncture I had my first regular period since the time I started when I was 14 years old.
The next month we got caught out and Tom was conceived! I was truly amazed. So when we started
trying again and after 9 months had no luck I decided to pop into Herbs and Acupuncture to chat
through what they could do for me.
I came away feeling very positive that something could be done to bring my periods closer together
and to help me conceive.The plan was to have up to 6 acupuncture sessions to nourish my ovaries and
also take a prescribed mixture of herbs. As well as this I started taking my temperature each morning
and plotting on a graph.

I have to say, the herbs I did not overly enjoy taking as they tasted really unpleasant but all I kept thinking was "well if they work then
they are worth it" ! Whereas the acupuncture I just loved, as I found it very relaxing and just lovely to get away and have a peaceful
half an hour to myself! After about 3 weeks I did say to the Doctor that I was finding it difficult to take the herbal mixture and that the
process of boiling them up twice a day was quite time consuming. The Doctor reassured me that he really felt that he could help me
and so I decided to carry on. He also kindly got my herbal prescription ground into a powder form so it was a lot easier to prepare!
After six sessions of acupuncture and six weeks of herbs I was pregnant! I couldn't believe it. We now have another beautiful boy
called William who was born on 5th March 2007. All is well and we are very grateful to Dr Yu for all his encouragement and amazing
herbs! I'm just so glad I continued with his treatments.
All I can say is that if anyone is having trouble in conceiving then they should really consider booking an appointment with Dr Yu. I'm
sure they'll get the positive result they dream of! Traditional Chinese Medicine has worked twice for me so I'm a great believer in it.
